Zoe on Caesar Pond: Neighbor Carla, faithful dog Zoe, and I went for a play session on the pond today. Carla cross-country skied, I snowshoed, and Zoe wandered here, there, and everywhere. The snow was a good 12-20 inches deep depending on where the drifts were, and Zoe was having a blast. We were all exhausted when we arrived back home because it is always difficult to break trail. Carla and I took turns in the lead so as to give each other a bit of a rest. Best of all…Neighbor Ernie had mugs of steaming hot cocoa and fresh baked biscuits with blackberry jam ready for us upon our return. You know, life just doesn’t get much better than this (unless you factor in that Drew and Kasha had to stay home as old doggy just can’t navigate her way through deep snow anymore. Drew has to rescue her when she gets stuck in snow piles in the back yard:-) It would also have been better if Ernie could have joined us…but…then who would have served us the hot cocoa?
