Commander McBragg

One of my favorite cartoons from childhood was The World of Commander McBragg. These first appeared in 1963 on CBS along with other cartoons like Tennessee Tuxedo (voiced by Don Adams) and Klondike Kat. The commander was voiced by Kenny Delmar who portrayed “Senator Claghorn” on the Fred Allen radio show.

Somehow I find it comforting to know that the Commander will always be sitting in a big wingback chair, twirling a globe and telling fantastic tales.
